In this guide, we will show you three different methods through which you can unbrick Pixel 9/Pro/XL/Fold. Artificial Intelligence has now become the talk of the town and Google definitely has a major role to play in the same. Not only has it incorporated AI in the search functionality, but it has also added it to its newest Pixel lineup. In this regard, the likes of the Weather app, Pixel Call Notes, Studio, Screenshot, and Gemini Live managed to grab the attention of the masses.
Then if we turn our attention towards the hardware side, the Silicon Valley giant has just released four new variants. Part of the ninth iteration, these devices behold the same DNA that Pixel has been known for for ages. With exceptional camera quality and a clean stock usage experience, the devices are known to be tech enthusiast’s favorite toys. And this time around, it’s no different either.
From flashing custom ROMs to installing custom recovery, from gaining administrative access by rooting your device via Magisk to flashing custom kernels or even flashing tons of Magisk Modules, Xposed Framework, LSPosed, Substratum Themes, and Viper4Android, the possibilities stand endless. However, this is just one side of the coin.
Carrying out these tweaks might prove to be a risky bet as well. Just a slight deviation from the instructions or flashing a corrupt/incorrect file, and there’s every chance of your device ending up in a bootloop or softbrick state. Fortunately, even if that happens, you can easily flash the Factory Image on your Pixel 9/Pro/XL/Fold and unbrick it. In this guide, we will show you how to do just that. So without further ado, let’s get started.
How to Unbrick Pixel 9/Pro/XL/Fold [3 Methods]
Do note that the below process will wipe off all the data from your device [not that you are currently in a position to take a backup, but still, it was worth mentioning nevertheless]. Moreover, we have listed three different methods that will help you get this job done.
Go through all of them once and then try out the one that is in sync with your requirements. TheDroidwin and its members wouldn’t be held responsible in case of a thermonuclear war, your alarm doesn’t wake you up, or if anything happens to your device and data by performing the below steps.
Via Flash-All Script
This is the easiest and shortest of the three methods and just requires you to run a batch file. Here’s how it could be done:
- Force reboot your device to Fastboot Mode via hardware keys.
- Then download the Factory Image for your device from below.
"tokay" for Pixel 9 | "caiman" for Pixel 9 Pro | "komodo" for Pixel 9 Pro XL
- Once done, extract the firmware and launch the flash-all.bat file.
- The flashing will now start and it can take a while [few minutes].
- Once that is done, your device will automatically boot to the OS.
Via Android Flash Tool
You may also flash the firmware and unbrick your Pixel 9/Pro/XL/Fold via the Android Flash Tool. For the unaware, this is the official tool provided by Google and is required to flash Factory Images. So force reboot your device to Fastboot Mode via hardware key combinations and then refer to our guide on How to Flash Firmware on Pixel via Android Flash Tool.
Via Manual Flashing
For the daring souls out there, they may flash the firmware files manually to the device’s respective partitions. Here’s how it can be done:
- First off, download and extract the Android SDK Platform Tools.
- Next up, download the Factory Image for your device from below.
"tokay" for Pixel 9 | "caiman" for Pixel 9 Pro | "komodo" for Pixel 9 Pro XL
- Once done, extract the firmware and transfer all the files to the platform tools folder.
- Then rename the files as follows:
bootloader.img radio.img image.zip For example: bootloader-caiman-ripcurrentpro-14.6-12019008.img to bootloader.img
- Then type in cmd in the address bar of platform-tools and hit Enter.
- Now boot your device to Fastboot Mode via hardware key combinations.
- Then type in the below commands, one at a time, to flash the partition files:
fastboot flash bootloader bootloader.img fastboot reboot-bootloader fastboot flash radio radio.img fastboot reboot-bootloader fastboot -w update image.zip
- Finally, type in the below command to boot your device to the OS:
fastboot reboot
