In this guide, we will show you the steps to force clone even the unsupported app and add it to the Parallel Space on your OnePlus device. Cloning an app and making two instances of the same have a plethora of benefits. For instance, if you are using two different WhatsApp accounts via two different phone numbers [one for work and one for personal stuff], then instead of carrying two different phones for the same, you could create two instances of the app on your single device and easily switch between them as and when required.

This also holds true for all the different types of social media accounts, such as Facebook, Telegram, Instagram, etc. In this regard, many OEMs nowadays add this feature to their OS skin itself, thereby negating the need to download and install any third-party app to get the job done, In the case of OnePlus, this feature is known as Parallel Space.

But while this feature gets the job done, it is limited and restricted in nature in the sense it only allows a certain number of apps to be added in this ‘space’. Fortunately, though there exists a nifty workaround using which you could easily force clone even the unsupported app and add it to the Parallel Space on your OnePlus device. So without further ado, let’s get started.

How to Force Clone any App: Add it to Parallel Space on OnePlus

We have listed two different methods that will help you get this job done. Go through both these methods once and then try out the one that is in sync with your requirements.

METHOD 1: Via App Store

This is the shorter and easier of the methods. In this approach, we will be installing a third-party app store to the second user’s profile so that you can directly install the app to the second space without interacting with the primary profile. Moreover, you wouldn’t even need a PC to install these apps if you opt for this method, which for me is the biggest plus point. So get hold of the desired app store and then get started with the instructions.

NOTE: If you are unsure as to which third-party app store should you opt for, then you may refer to our below recommendations

  • FDroid
  • APK Mirror
  • Amazon App Store
  • Aurora Store
  • UpToDown
  • Galaxy Store [Only for Samsung devices]

Once you have downloaded the desired app store, let’s proceed ahead with the below instructions:

  1. First off, download and extract the Android SDK Platform Tools on your PC.
  2. Then download the desired App Store’s APK and transfer it to platform tools.
  3. Now enable USB Debugging and connect your device to the PC via USB cable.add any app parallel space
  4. Next up, type in CMD in the platform-tools folder address bar and hit Enter.
  5. This will launch the Command Prompt. So type in the below command in it:
    adb install --user 999 name.apk
  6. Make sure that you replace the name with the name of the APK file accordingly.

METHOD 2: Without App Store

In this method, we will be manually installing the desired APK to the second space. It will require you to execute the ADB Command and hence take the help of a PC every time you are about to add an app to the Second Space, which would require additional effort and time. If that’s well and good, then let’s get started.

  1. First off, download and extract the Android SDK Platform Tools on your PC.
  2. Then download the desired app’s APK and place it inside the platform tools.
  3. Now enable USB Debugging and connect your device to PC via a USB cable.add any app parallel space
  4. Then type in CMD in the platform-tools folder address bar and hit Enter.
  5. This will launch the Command Prompt. Now type in the below command:
    adb install --user 999 appname.apk
  6. Make sure to replace the ‘appname’ with the name of the APK file accordingly.
  7. The app will now be added and installed to the Parallel Space on your device.

How to Install Multiple Apps: Add Multiple Apps to Parallel Space

If you are planning to add multiple apps to Parallel Space, then manually installing each one of them by executing their commands individually will end up taking ages. Therefore, a much better and shorter approach will be to combine all those commands into a single one and then execute it. It will automatically install all those apps in one go. So refer to the below steps to get this job done right away!

  1. First off, make sure to checkmark the requirements listed above.
  2. Then, open the Command Prompt inside the platform tools folder.
  3. Once done, now type in the below command in the CMD window:
    adb install-multiple --user 999 name1.apk name2.apk name3.apk
  4. Make sure to change the name1, name2, etc with the exact app name.

That’s it. These were the steps to force clone even the unsupported app and add it to the Parallel Space on your OnePlus device. If you have any queries concerning the aforementioned steps, do let us know in the comments. We will get back to you with a solution at the earliest.

How Does This Tweak Work?

Well, it’s quite simple- we created a new user profile with the ID “999” and then added/installed the desired apps to that profile. This ID [999] is completely different from your primary one and will even have its own Google Play Services installed [though not the Google Play Store- that is the reason why this guide came into existence in the first place!].
