In this guide, we will show you the steps to download and install the latest Android 15 build on your Xiaomi device. Google has recently taken off the lid from its fifteenth iteration of the OS. And with that, a slew of intriguing and noteworthy features are waiting to make a permanent abode on your device. These include the likes of Partial Screen Sharing, Notification Cooldown, Lock Screen Widgets, Battery Health Percentage, App Archive, Bluetooth Menu, and Private Space.
Numerous OEMs have already adopted this OS build, with the likes of Tecno, Lenovo, Sharp, and iQOO being the surprising entries whereas Pixel, OnePlus, and Nothing are the obvious ones in this list. If we talk about Xiaomi, then we could safely put it in the second bracket as even though it isn’t the most active player when it comes to updates, however, its flagships have always been the beneficiaries of the latest OS upgrades. And the same has been the case this time around.
With that said, the installation method is something that might leave users scratching their heads and many might not even proceed ahead to try out these builds. Still, we will be listing out the instructions as well as the bugs associated with these builds and more importantly the risks involved. Make sure you go through each of these sections and only then decide whether you wish to download and install Android 15 on your Xiaomi device. So with that in mind, let’s get started.
List of Xiaomi Devices Received Android 15 Update
At the time of writing, the below-listed devices have been blessed with the latest OS build. However, this is not the complete list and more devices will be added to this list as and when Xiaomi adds the support for the same. So do keep a check on this section at regular intervals.

Bugs in Xiaomi Android 15 Update
While the OEM hasn’t explicitly listed out the bugs, but there is a high probability of you facing [any one of or all] these issues:
- Device overheating
- Excessive Battery Drainage
- Apps not working along the expected lines.
- System slow down and facing stuttering, lags, and FPS drops in graphics intensive usage.
Do note that the chances of these bugs are quite high in the beta builds and there’s every chance that most of them will be quashed in the stable builds
Drawback of Installing Android 15 on Xiaomi
Up until now, we have covered the Android 15 installation for close to 10 OEMs, however, Xiaomi is the only one that has this section. By far the biggest drawback that would make you think twice before you proceed ahead and install the latest OS build, Xiaomi has instructed that the bootloader on your device needs to be unlocked before you can install this OS. Not only is the entire fiasco surrounding unlocking the bootloader a mess, especially with HyperOS.
However, it might even end up nullifying the device’s warranty. On top of that, it requires you to wait for at least 30 days after applying to proceed with the unlocking process. All in all, you’ll; have to go through quite a few slopes to get s taste of the Vanilla Ice Cream! If that’s all well and good, then let’s proceed with the next step, or else you should consider waiting for the stable build to arrive, which is still some months away.
So what else could the OEM have done? Well, instead of packing the update in a Fastboot ROM, it should have done so in the Local Install format so that one could easily install it via the Settings menu [and then do a format data manually if required]. Anyways, that is not the case and you have no choice but to opt for the bootloader unlocking method only. So keeping that in mind, let’s get started.
